thing is you all know full well that people who are happy to show such a blatant disrespect for both the rules of the road and the safety of other people, are also going to think its perfectly OK to continue to break other minor law's until such time as they break a major law and some poor law abiding decent persons gets hurts or worse.

I'd initially shared Reiver's view that it may have been an idiotic mistake rather than something malicious, but the fact that he told Ben to 'fark off!' kind of clears that one up.

Ben first of all thanks for sharing the footage. It clearly highlights we've got few idiots on the road who put others lives at risk. People crossing the road could had been seriously hurt or even killed by one idiot's mistake. Please report this incident to police at your earliest.

'Until'? You seem to be under the impression that the type of arse who habitually drives like that will actually change their ways after seriously injuring or even killing someone.

Wasn't there that case last year of a guy fighting deportation after killing a cyclist ... and between that incident and the court case had recieved two additional charges for their driving?

Never sure who are the worst, the boy racer who takes risks but is probably quite skilled, or the buffoon that doesn't know what's going on
Boy racers think they are quite skilled and drive like a tit, normally.(Not much experience)
I didn't really get the impression it was aggressive boy racer let me past no matter what type of driving, more of an incompetent don't know what I am doing sort of thing. I guess they realised the overtake was going all wrong and then panicked - i bet the driver never even saw the zebra crossing.

I'd go with the above.

Shocking driving, that goes way beyond any sort of reasoning.

Sorry not to get back benb! I use AVS4You. Mainly because it could handle the avi files my first helmet camera generated. All the other stuff I tried was either incapable or required separate rendering of the file before editing which was a faff.

Anyway, an update. I received a letter from the Met today:
"In view of the lack of independent evidence to support your claim, we are unable to initiate proceedings on this occasion. However, the registered owner/keeper of the vehicle has been notified of your allegation and a record of the incident will be kept within this office."
I'm not impressed. I'm going to be working every waking moment for the next three weeks but I'll try to make some time and make a fuss.
