Stopped off in Treorchy the other day and popped into the Cardiff Arms Cafe on the main road. Its a largeish cafe the owner said a group of 10 or so cyclists mid morning wouldnt be a problem.Coffee was good and food looked reasonably priced(Full breakfast £3.50). Also has customer toilet.

Suggest people take some pocket food with them as its a good few hours round to the Angel Pub in Pont Nedd fechan for a dinner break.(There is a road side burger van type thing by Storey Arms Mountain center on the A470 for a quick cuppa or what ever.) After that there are a few shops etc dotted along the route home if anyone needs extra calories to do the last climb.

Hopefully, I will be taking a drive down there tomorrow, Picking a climb and maybe doing it 3 or 4 times.

I need the practice. Or in Velominati talk "Im all about the V"

Well I still intend to turn up for some of it though prep hasn't been great.

New bike (to me) turned up a couple of weeks ago damaged and still hasn't been sorted ref claim, had a chest infection for a month so not many miles put in, and house sitting for my old man for 2 weeks while he's galavanting in the Falklands so more dog walking than cycling!

Furthest I've been this year is probably 25 pretty flat miles, other than that I am ready!

I need to get the Speedster out of mothballs.Really enjoy riding the Jamis but its a bit of a weight to get up hills.

Im hoping that a winter of riding a 29lb bike will make riding a 20 lb bike feel like flying ^_^ Will miss the soft landings provided by the 32c tyres though.

Definitely putting the brooks B17 back on the speedster though, thats one bit extra of weight I dont mind.

Sounds like perfect preperation to me ^_^ Where the hell do you find 25 flat miles round your way??

Seriously though be great to meet you, turn up meet the crew and ride as much or as little of the route as you like.
