Merkur 38C razor - long handled cos I've got big hands.
Feather blades cos they are the sharpest I've ever used.
Kent shaving brush - BK4 I think. The longer it's used the softer it seems to get.
Mitchells Wool Fat or Crabtree & Evelyn shaving cream.

Thank you.

What is the consensus on razors and blades, I can't be bottomed to read through the whole thread?

Edwin Jagger DE89 razor (was about £25 or £30)
Feather blades (currently £6.45 for 30 on Amazon. I have paid more in the past though)
Can't remember who made the brush but a badger got shaved in the process. I don't know what they used to shave the badger.
Mitchell's Wool Fat (£8.99)
Osam Alum Block (£5.05). The Mitchell's soap lasts a long time but the alum block looks set to still be around at the end of time.

All that and it's still a fraction of the cost of doing it with a cartridge blade and aerosol foam gunk. I buy 30 blades about twice a year, the soap once or twice a year and the alum is yet to to show any signs of wearing away at all.

No it won't. Because at some point you will drop it and it will shatter into a billion pieces. Guess how I know. I find the ones that look like a roll-on deodorant better.

Having now used 2 starter selection packs I have a problem deciding which are best for me, mainly as it takes so long to get through them I've forgotten by the time it comes around to order more which I liked most.
However I do know I don't like Personna and Silver Star.

Go on, tilt your head!
I'm loving my Merkur 34C, I'm working my way through a sample pack of blades to find my favourite - Feathers are the sharpest so far I think. Need to get some more shaving soap soon - and get a soap bowl!

Have a word at your local Costa coffee. They have double-handled coffee cups that are perfect..

They float very well. I have a couple. They are "souvenirs" of birthday bowling parties for my two boys. The blocks of Mitchells Wool Fat soap fit very nicely indeed.
