I work at a petrol station, and I have to lock my bike to the aircon unit around the back. So nonexistant is about right

Five stars - secure site with no public access, generously-sized bike shed with loads of room, . Four decent showers and changing room .

Where i work absolutely crap

I work for one of the uk's biggest high street banks in a call centre, they have bike sheds yes but they double up as smoking sheds when it chucks it down. My place of work does have showers but because i work nights we cannot use them. The showers are in the works gym which is tiny and run by nuffield health and nuffield health will not allow anyone in the gym after 9pm.

And if you want too use the showers post a ride into work you have too be a member of the gym which is 20quid a month

As a result my other half drives me into work and i stick my bike on the bike rack and i bike home, i have too be suited and booted for work even though i work 10pm-730am in a call centre i dont like sitting there feeling minging for hours on end

Well, start a new job in July, facilities seem excellent, large government complex with showers, wet room, hangers, lockers etc. Problem is I walk to work at the minute, it being 200 yards away, but my new place will be 16 miles away and really not sure if I'm up to the commute...going to try a dry run this Monday and take it from there...heres hoping!

ours is a nuffield gym and it's free to use the showers and lockers if you're a 'green commuter'. it's also only £10 a month for the gym, and there are, from what i can tell, no restrictions on when you can use the facilities. have a word…

The cycling facilities at my current job are non existent; I work at a village pub 3 miles up the road from me. My bike gets locked up to the fence in the pub car park. I'm not bothered about the lack of shower facilities; working in a hot kitchen means that even if I'm fresh as a daisy at the start of the shift I'm going to be a sweaty beast by the end of it.

I only work in a small office, with 4 people downstairs and 4 upstairs. You could probably fit in 40-50 people in if you tried. Facilities are none existent and as we don't own the building, nothing can be done about it.

Saying that, they are a really good company to work and one of the directors is a mountain biker. You're OK bringing your bike in to office. We can wear what we want so I have a large selection of spare clothes here. There's no rush to get changed in the morning and you can leave all your kit in one of the toilets.

You do have to wash in the sink though but I've got it down to a fine art. I even wash my hair in there sometimes

I rated them a 4/5 but after reading through the thread I'm think even that's harsh.

I've got my own cycle locker (1 of 8) round the back and I can keep an eye on it from the window. I've a locker room with full shower facilities. Sometimes I'm the only fella on so I've the whole locker room to myself. I keep work trainers, soap and shampoo down there and I can get towels too.

Obviously better to when I first started cycling there in 1990 where I also had a bike nicked around the same time. The last time I had a bike nicked (touch wood)
We've been moved from pillar to post involving the public bike racks oh...in my workplace at first. The old block where a work colleague found it funny to leave my lights on and cover them up to flatten the battery. In the new block upstairs and at the bottom of the stairs. The new compound.Station bike racks.Boris bikes storage place and now moved to our own fenced place last year.We have showers now also but we've only had the for about 5 years. Also more people cycle in.So probably from 0 stars to 4 stars.

Pretty good on the whole with dedicated shed/changing rooms - sometimes not enough racks in the warmer weather when there are more cyclists. Not a problem through the winter months though!

This is a big building so the facilities are very good. We have plenty of showers (some as part of the gym facilities and some more in a different part of the building), a drying room and plenty of stands. All the stands are wheelbenders and most are in places where anyone can walk in off the street but we are in the suburbs so not so many lowlife types about. I tend to put mine in the lockable velokeller regardless.

They have just repositioned the various bike stands where I work - I particularly like the positioning of this one.

If you ask me that's an improvement ... now you have a chunky bar to lock your bike to .... (sideways on - which is how I always use Wheel benders anyway)! Looks like you have to fight with the motorbikes to get in there though.
