What's the difference between a SIM card and an SD card? I'm asking as I'm having phone storage problems.

SD card is to add extra memory. SIM card is the one that links your phone and number to a service provider

So if when I try and take a photo the words check storage (or something like that) come up I probably need a new SD card? £35 I've been quoted for a new one with 62 whatevers
on it. Is that about the right price?

Do you have a phone accessory shop nearby or is that where you got your high price? Are they copying your existing photos and charging you labour? Sounds more reasonable if so.

Yes, a local shop quoted £35. I've heard they'll do the copying etc, but they won't/don't charge more for doing it. I suppose they've already added 'labour' costs, even if you just buy the card and do the fiddly bits yourself.

I put this to the shop owner today. He said that the ones on sale for about a tenner are either fakes or poor quality. I'm not convinced about that, but I'm not convinced that his aren't 'fake' as well. 🤔

Ask him which make and model of 64Gb micro SD card he is proposing to sell you for £35. That a ridiculous price, you can buy 128 Gb direct from Samsung UK for £16.
