Is it acceptable to put carrots in a lasagna? My family think not I think it's ok if they are quartered rounds...

If doing a meat lasagne then grate the carrot, I don't know why but it makes it a lot nicer than not putting it in.

Well, I've seen carrots in bolognese recipes, so why not as lasagne and bolognese are more or less the same thing. I think the carrots have to be finely chopped though.

I think what you are referring to is a Mirepoix which is a classic french start to a sauce which gives it depth and really good flavour this is how i start a bolognase. Yes a bolognase can be used as the red sauce in a lasagne.

This is where I go wrong with carrots. I don't chop them finely, I tend to scrape them, then chop them into about half an inch wide pieces, no matter how wide the carrot is. In a meal they look off putting/overbearing. 🤔

I actually have a food chopper/blender bought last February that's still in its box, on my stairs. Machines like that save time on food chopping, but make work when you have to wash them after.

Ah, I put clothes washing liquitabs in the dishwasher a couple of times. An easy mistake to make when they've been removed from the box and left in an unlabelled tub on top of the dishwasher (and the clothes washing machine was tht other side of the house).
Surprised it didn't cause a flood of suds.

But we did have two days of very fragrant crockery before realising my error!
