When cleaning aluminium with a metal polish (e.g. Autosol) why is it that a silver-coloured metal turns the paste black ?
Where does that black come from ?

A metal conservator writes:
What you are seeing is tiny particles of aluminum and other metal (copper, magnesium etc.) oxides, which oxidize almost immediately after being removed from the base, en masse they appear black.

Accrington Stanley play local(ish) rivals Bolton Wanderers tomorrow. It should be a sell out 4,900 capacity crowd. As usual with me it's a last minute decision. I haven't bought a ticket, which if I had would've guaranteed me a decent seat. If I go I'll have to stand which isn't easy with my hip/leg problem. Also I don't like dressing down, as in wearing 'football fan type clothing', so I'd have to wear tweeds, bright coloured corduroy pants, shirt and tie, polished shoes etc, which does attract ridicule as well as compliments.🧐 If I go will I be putting myself through a slightly traumatic experience, rather than a pleasurable experience? 🤔

If there are any tickets left when I rock up to tomorrows game, I'm concerned that people might tease me about the clothes that I choose to wear.

Yes! In general, the terraces are not hugely accepting of difference.

I remember my other half coming to her one and only game and being absolutely appalled by a chant of 'who ate all the pies....you fat b*****, you fat b*****, you ate all the pies ' to a young mascot lad on the larger side.

Why have 'they' stopped putting plastic lids on large yoghurt pots?
You buy one large enough to last you 4+ days but there is no way to seal it. I end up wrapping tin foil around it.
