Clinchers would be nice but I have tubs . Its my first TT season and the cost of the wheels wasn't that bad buying second hand tubs . I have a rear 90mm HB carbon a front 50mm HB carbon and a Corima rear disk all with cassettes and tyres for £600 . Find me that combo in clincher and I will happily invest :okay:

Can't argue with those prices. Tubs are hard to beat (not in that sense) on race days.

Snapped. You mean the valve stem is snapped in half? That might account for the loss of pressure. The tub is probably junk either way, in that case.

I think that's the case so may aswell swap the pair . So what tubs is my next question .
If you are TTing, then my personal favourite would be Conti Competitions. Conti Sprinters are also good, and a bit cheaper. Corsa CX also v good. Never tried any others.

Yes , it hadn't kept pressure since I got it but it would take a week to go flat . I guess it was damaged already and me pumping it up for racing has finally finished it off .
It was an issue that I thought I could leave until winter but .....

I would agree with that, not the lightest and mainly for peace of mind as [touch wood] we have never punctured one yet. A word of warning for those without strong hands, I had forgotten how difficult they are to get on the rim without prior stretching. I always manage it eventually but not without a fair amount of cursing.
Of course it is easier to repair a puncture on a clincher than a tub, I cannot believe anyone is debating this point.

First job is to get this bad boy off and see whats going on with the valve . It still may be repairable but I doubt it . I take it you just pull the tub off ?

Oooooo that was easy enough , it looks like the valve extender has snapped of deep inside the valve so I may get away with a new valve extender ? Worth a shot .

Looks like I'm in luck and have fixed the valve . Next question is . How do you get the old glue of the tyre ? Its a nightmare ! The rim is easy enough as it just rolls off but the tyre .
