Before you do that - try pumping it up anyway. I have had tubs deflate overnight for no apparent reason, only for me to re-inflate them and then carry on without further issue. Sometimes they're just weird like that...

You can, assuming the hole is not too large - but the pitstop stuff pretty much rules out any other kind of repair subsequently...
Thanks , I cant see me faffing about with a needle and thread . I guess I should really just use the tubs for racing but they are soooo nice .

okay this may be very very very stupid question and i dont want to create new thread just so you guys can laugh at me so...

This morning i tried to go out early and find my rear pretty low on psi, when i connected the track pump it showed me 80 and i was riding on 120 so 40psi diff is quite big. i inflated the tyre and gauge just been showing me how the tyre loses pressure on it's own - puncture, fuk. I decided to not go and order some inner tubes as i couldnt find spare i had before >.> now after like 6 hours of that i woke up again and checked the wheels and what? psi stays on 115-117 psi so my question is...

what the fk is with that inner tube once it loses pressure, other time it holds it well, really... make up your mind!

Latex tubes will lose pressure and should be checked before each ride. If a butyl tube losses pressure sometimes but not others you need to check the valve for dirt or bendyness.

I think the main reason clinchers have the popularity is the cost of the tyres . I nipped to the bike shop to get a new valve core and the schwalbe Ultremo HT tubs are £70 each . I had the ultremo clinchers on my tcr and I'm sure I paid @ £50 for the pair . I didn't like the clincher version and they cut up very quick where as the tub version is completely different in wear and riding .

I ride cheap vittoria rally tubs for day to day and if you shop around they are just over a tenner. I then have some nice challenge tubs also. Learn to glue or tape them and I wouldn't ever swap to clinchers on my steel. I wouldn't want to change my beautiful campagnolo record wheels either

Tubs from a distant memory are a doddle to repair, here goes.

Strip tub off of rim.
Locate puncture.
Remove backing tape to a distance of about an inch either side of the puncture.
Pull out inner tube.
Find that you cannot get to the puncture so pull a bit more tape off and undo a few more stitches.
Pull out inner tube.
Find that you cannot get to the puncture so tape a bit more tape off and undo a few more stitches.
Pull out inner tube.
Tell dog to clear off as he has the other side of the tub between his teeth playing tug of war.
Find that you cannot get to the puncture so tape a bit more tape off and undo a few more stitches.
Pull out inner tube.
Repair inner tube.
Replace inner tube back into carcass.
Carefully stitch back up the 2 foot of stitching you undid to find the puncture.
Restick backing tape, properly because this is the bit that stick to your rim.
Clean old tape/glue off of rim trying not to get to high on the solvents used.
Reglue rim allowing tacking off time.
Fit tub, trying but failing to not get glue all over the tub or your hand or the lounge/dining room furniture.
Inflate.
Then repeat above process as either you punctured the tube sewing up or it had 2 punctures.
Or throw tub at dog and go and buy a new one.

Failing that use clinchers, change a tube in 2 minutes and enjoy your ride.

Clinchers would be nice but I have tubs . Its my first TT season and the cost of the wheels wasn't that bad buying second hand tubs . I have a rear 90mm HB carbon a front 50mm HB carbon and a Corima rear disk all with cassettes and tyres for £600 . Find me that combo in clincher and I will happily invest :okay:
