AU has quite a high pitched voice for such a big and gruff guy.

He puts it down to an accident as a kid where he was jumping off ramps on his bike.
Just put it this way, he most certainly didn't miss the top tube of his bike, oh no, he just hit it sorely.

Many people think Doug is short for Douglas, when it really comes from his days working as a grave digger. The graves he worked on were very shallow so he got the name Dug less.

Actually Douglas is a misheard name. His name is really Lugless on account of his welded up bike frame (mostly repairs) and his obvious (to any who see him) lack of ears.
