I've just had a bowl of steaming porridge for brekkie !

Marvellous stuff ! (IMO) proper Scotts oats, soaked overnight in milk, gently heated and served with a topping of honey !

Had to have a second bowl full it was that good :mrpig:

So I wondered fellow forummers love it or loathe it ?

(suggestions to alternative toppings / prep methods welcome.

Oh I love it. Scott's Oats soaked overnight definitely, but in water not milk. Constant stirring until thick and smooth then sponned into a soup plate. A splash of cold milk around the sides - just enough to make the porridge rise and add a teaspoon of brown sugar.

Mmmmm, honey and bananananana or milk and brown sugar for me please.

My choice is the Quaker, Oat So Simple, original, two minute microwave porridge with a sliced banana mixed in. Maybe a sprinkle of brown sugar for added yummyness.

That's fine, if you insist on wrong porridge then it's up to you...

I'm with Ian. Your post caused me a lot of turmoil. First the joy of finding someone who understands that porridge is made with oatmeal, then immediately the rug was pulled away with the barmy soya/hemp/rice talk. Cruel stuff, 3BM.

Bimbling along ...
Boil milk, add sugar, add oats, stir until thick ... enjoy.

I'll have to try the soaking thing though, sounds interesting.
