I'm with Ian. Your post caused me a lot of turmoil. First the joy of finding someone who understands that porridge is made with oatmeal, then immediately the rug was pulled away with the barmy soya/hemp/rice talk. Cruel stuff, 3BM.

Thank you Claudine... looking at it again, I can fathom no reason why one would have fake white stuff mixed in with something as glorious as porridge?* Sorry 3BM mate.. but it's wrong.

*Unless of course you are one of those poor unfortunate souls who are Lactose/dairy intolerant

Let's not be childish about this, I said anything else was wrong first.

Another pinhead here. I did try it with rolled oats and whisk it as mentioned previously, but couldn't be bothered to do it again and try and get it to work.

Get the missus to make it (it's the only meal she does cook, I do all the others).

Made with water, served and topped with mixed fruit and banana and honey. Some no fat milk.

Sets you up for the day.

Just taking a break from cooking some vegetable soup. Mmmmmm Onion, Celery, Potato, Parsnip, Leek, Carrots, Peas, the seasoned with Parsley, Sage Thyme and Rosemary.

Tastes great so far.............another experiment. :becool:

Lovely, I cheat though and do it in the microwave with milk, then when done, a little more milk and either honey, supplied from a friends hives, or dried mixed berries in winter, or fresh berries in the summer.

I have never really understood "Instant" porridge. I make mine with Jumbo Organic Oats. Measure six heaped desertspoonsful* into a jug, add milk, (skimmed, semi-skimmed or full fat) bung in microwave for two minutes on high. Stir, leave to stand for half a minute, stir, add brown sugar (half a teaspoon) and consume. As others will confirm yummy yum yum.

* I concede that cyclists with an hour long commute may need more oats.
