I drove a Vauxhall Corsa for years. Fantastically reliable. I never did anything apart from fill the screenwash, pump up the tyres and get it serviced/MOT'd once a year and nothing ever went wrong with it. I switched to a Merc and every service was eye watering as a whole host of things would need fixing. Now I have a Hyundai and I'm back to just filling the screenwash and pumping the tyres.

Like others I've picked up a pile of things from PlanetX's sale - some Viner Mitus bits just in case they go under and maintenance stuff. However, they don't seem to have much stock left. And no, there won't be any bib shorts in the order.

Looking through their site maybe they'll try to go more specialist rather than generalist; bikes plus clothing, if they can't obtain budget parts like pre Covid/Brexit.

And as for reliable cars SWMBO's Honda Jazz has had nothing go wrong in 11 years with just basic servicing once a year. Son no. 2 has my old Peugeot Tepee and that's been fine in the six years we've had it, as was my Saab.

My neighbours mostly have (leased/PCP) BMW's and they're forever back in the dealership to be repaired.

It's strange, I have bought from Planet X in the past, and subscribed for their emails, yet never receive anything.

I ordered a couple of Carnac Croix helmets this afternoon because the one I've got at the moment is excellent and you can't go far wrong for a tenner. FedEx tell me that they've picked up the consignment so I'm reasonably confident of receiving it..

Duly arrived yesterday. :okay:
