I always said if I had a personalised number plate I would go for C4REY not that I'm one for that sort of thing. Then one day I'm driving up to London to work, it was Goodwood week and I had long left our village next to the course , when there it was C4REY on a Bentley or something like that. I often wonder what the chances of that would be.

When I see a plate like DS 26 or BOB 26 my first thought is that there are 25 people in this country with more money and or less sense. My second thought is TO55 ERS.
Friend of ours has FB 12, it was a gift from his son what would you like him to do with it?

It's his number plate he can do what he wants with it.

So long as him and his son don't moan about motoring expenses while paying voluntary taxes.
Is he still allowed to queue up at the Post Office each week for his pension?

Benefits have been paid into bank accounts for years. He can queue up if he wants but they must be fed up reminding him of this every week.

Does he have memory or cognitive issues? Can't he remember a number plate with more than four characters?

Ah so your response to your silly comment is to not rationalise your feelings but to attack the person, okay, move on have a nice life

We both had them, on previous vehicles

SWMBO had this on her XKR
'X8' was available, at the time, but at twice the price
We owned it, 2007 - 2010
The company she worked for, after being poached from the NHS, had initially given her a Mondeo company car
Then the scheme, apparantly, changed to; "we'll give you £*** per month, you sort your own cars out"
We were going to get another Mondeo, but in Wakefield, the Ford & Jaguar dealerships are next to each other, & she saw this on the forecourt

Mine was bought, by SWMBO, as an early b/day present for the 50th Anniversary Discovery I owned
(300Tdi/manual/5-seater)
Quite apt!!, given the model, & it was on an 'S' registration anyway

Then it got transferred onto its successor, a 110Td5 'Heritage'
I let the plate go, when I sold it (2010)
On a more curious note, about 6 months after selling it, I saw it for sale in one of the Land Rover magazines (4 monthlies were available back then!)
Miraculously, it had somehow gained a full service history
An agricultural engineer friend did anything 'serious' that needed doing, as he had the tools

As an aside; I never liked the side-steps, but SWMBO wouldn't let me take them off (I'd have preferred the archetypal fold-up steps)

Daughter has one, on her A-Class
We bought it as a 21st birthday present, it's not quite her initials, but she decided she wanted that particular one

Kilometre nibbler
There's a pest control company near where I live who have two vans BUG 80 Y and RAT 80 Y (I think, they spell out bug boy and rat boy anyway)

Not personalised, but when I was little my dad had a Moggie Thou with reg 276 MOG which was pretty neat.

In the OLD days (30-40 years ago) each county town (IIRC) was given a series of letters to identify the car's original location.

My mum didn't want a car with *OO (for Chelmsford) as it could have been LOO, MOO or POO.

I think that was why my Dad's old Sierra was something like D911OFJ and one of the chaps who worked for him also had a Sierra and it was D911OFG, or naybe just coincidence

And?

Don't understand the idea anyway. I do not want to be recognised. Certainly not spend money on the idea.

Not a recent comment but I heard someone say that they had a personalised number plate because it was not easy to judge the age of their car.
We have a lot here mostly owned by white settlers which have MULL somewhere in the mix.
