Up early this morning to start on the Dawes.
Removed the rack , gold esge guards , tyres , chain and the one side bar tape which I think will should go back on.
The front mechanism seemed a bit stiff but once I removed the cable it sprung into life.

It's scary how big chain rings used to be years ago! But then again, we had the strength to turn the buggers back then .

I bought a Decathlon own brand road bike like yours, second-hand last year, triple chainset useful for hilly Sheffield, armadillo tyres, full SKS mudguards. An absolute bargain off gumtree for £30.

I bought a used Trek Alpha 1 and got some very strange looks off the seller when I produced a magnifying glass and proceeded to check all the welds with it.

Had my first ride on the muddy fox seeker tonight and as I thought it is a bit small for me, so will have to decide what to do with it.

Shame I haven't got a bigger frame to swap bits over .

Been fairly quiet re bikes recently for one reason and another.
Picked up this Specialized Allez at the weekend with the intention of it being one of my winter bikes .
Now I have done a 37 mile test ride next thing is to get some guards on it , no rear lower bridge so now thinking about fitting a set of crud guards on it and I found a new boxed set earlier today so when I get chance I will offer them up .

Looks like a set of Reynolds wheels will fit on this one.
So have just dropped the front tyre of the existing wheel on to the Reynolds wheel

Well my Ian May has had the Allez wheels fitted and tested over a short ride and all seems good.

Next job is to decide what I am going to use for my winter bike fleet , so far the Allez is earmarked but needs a set of guards fitting, the Sinclair needs a bit of tlc seeing as it's done the last couple of winters as has the Dunelt single speed .
