Erm, you dabbling in brakes! :tongue:
Only joshing! I have full confidence in you! :biggrin:

:biggrin::biggrin:

Was nice to meet you and your tribe yesterday too Magnatom, and thanks very much for lunch; as soon as there was a snifter of that we were in for the duration! Your kids are very cute - and well-mannered to a fault! Dayvo, make sure you wash your hands and absolutely no talking with your mouth full! :laugh:

I think I know what the problem with the brakes was - I might not have connected the back one up properly which would explain why it was locked on. Frustratingly I can see what I probably did - the wee feed that the cable goes through probaby was caught up. You or Dayvo will sort it I'm sure. As I say it was serviced by LBS not a month ago, plus I went out with the older minitete in the childseat last weekend and it was working perfectly, so it shouldn't need adjusting by tool or anything, just someone who knows cantilevers really!:smile:

You will need to tighten the wheelnuts up though.:ohmy:

Anyway, if I can average a meal per CC forummer I meet then I'll be quite happy. Looking forward to it.

ps I got my number on Friday but Mrs T didn't, which is odd cos we entered in one go.

poo/ donut though.

Yes magnatom Junior (oldest) was also polite enough to tell you how many poos he had just done as well:ohmy::biggrin:

I'll try and have a look at the bike over the next day or so. Should be an easy fix.

Still nothing from PfS though....:sad:

I got the following info from a work colleague who panicked when I told her I'd had my PFS pack last Friday:

Just emailled LRF instead of Cycling Scotland and got a reply and a phone call straight away....apparently the pack distribution stopped because they ran out of t-shirts, but they're back up and running now!

So there you go - expect yours shortly !

Our packs arrived on Friday. The packaging was not up to much and the contents of both envelopes were scattered on the floor below the letter box. The T shirt provided a useful rag to clean my bike after the ride on Sat.

Mine was similar - except I was standing behind the door and caught it as the postie stuffed it through the letterbox, saving the contents from spilling out. I was surprised all of the contents were still in there, given that the envelope was wide open at one end !

Interesting use for the t-shirt.... I wore mine on Saturday as a subtle means of reminding my folks / aunt & uncle that they'd still to sponsor me.

I'm sure everbody else will get one soon but I've just had an email from pfs:

Dear Entrant

Thank you for registering for this year’s Pedal for Scotland on Sunday 14th September.

You may be aware that due to a problem with t-shirt supply, there has been a slight delay with the posting out of rider packs. If you haven’t yet received yours, don’t panic, we intend to get them all sent out within the next few days. If however there are further delays with the t-shirts to the extent it will result in your pack coming to you too late, we shall send you your pack without t-shirt next week. This will include a voucher for you to use to claim your –t-shirt at the finish.

In the meantime, if you wish to view or download any information, the rider briefing notes, route maps and plans have been added to the website – http://www.pedalforscotland.org/index.htmYour chosen charity sponsor form will have been sent to you separately, but should you wish to access another copy, this can also be downloaded from the event website – www.pedalforscotland.org
If you have recently received your Rider Information Pack then please ignore this email.

Yours sincerely

I got an email too but it read slightly differently, oddly enough;

Dear Entrant

Thank you for registering for this year’s Pedal for Scotland on Sunday 14th September.

You may be aware that due to a problem with t-shirt supply, there has been a slight delay with the posting out of rider packs. If you haven’t yet received yours, don’t panic, the build up to the big day is very much like doing a poo in a donut. Just sit back and relax and it will all fall into place. We intend to achieve many poonuts within the next few days. If however there are further delays to the extent it will result in your poo dropping out of you too late, we shall send you one of ours next week. Morag the tea lady is on a strict diet of weetabix and pontefract cakes and is curling them out with the regularity and frequency of an industrial printing press. She will also be on hand on the day for you to salute and admire at the finish.

So what is the verdict on the route? This is an area I don't know very well, so I can't really comment. Is it hilly? Is it on roads the whole way? What are the possible trouble spots (so I can have my camera at the ready!:thumbsup:)

Tete,

I had a quick look at the brakes (after I fitted my new rear mudguard which fits nicely, but looks a bit daft as at the moment I have a silver front guard and a black rear one! :biggrin:) and I don't think it is what you thought. I think they do need adjusting a bit. I have sorted the brakes on my bike before, so it shouldn't be a problem.

AFIcan tell, the first part is pretty similar to last year. Linlithgow Palace is substituted for L'l'gow Academy for the food stop and the part through S Q'ferry has changed.

It's on roads most of the way to start with, a bit on a cycle path (hope they open the gate this year !) and the section from Cramond Brig to the end is mostly cycle path.

Hills ? A longish, gentle-ish climb after Avonbridge, no real problem. Nothing major and NO Hawe's Brae out of S Q'ferry, so easier there too.

Looks a better route than last year but are you getting the pasta meal, which was at Linlithgow Academy last time ?

HTH and I'll try to get somewhere to cheer on the chaps and chapesses !

When do you start informing folk of your rider numbers ??
