Partner age difference

my ex boss first started "going out" with his wife when they were still at school

problem was that he was 18 and about to do his "A" levels and she was 15 and about to do her "O" levels and/or CSEs

so - in the words of his mates at the time "too young to ......."
so he got a lot of stick for it but ignored them

he muttered a few times about her 16th birthday being very special - only thing I ever heard him be rather reserved about!!!!

They were still together when he died from cancer - he must have been over 50 at the time and had been marred since he finished University and they had 3 kids

Mrs Crank is sixteen years younger than myself. Some may consider me a dirty old man. Best type of old man to be.

At the other end of the scale, as a mere 23 year old, working in the States for a couple of months, had a few dalliances there with a 34 year old.
She had a water bed, which was nice.

My wife was one year younger than me and was a class behind in school. Every year before the annual school dance we had dancing lessons in the gym. Girls lined up on one side and boys on the other.
For some reason I singled her out as my dance partner and we went to the school dance together and remained mostly together from then on.
We were apart for a while as I was working as an agricultural student but we still kept in touch and married when I graduated and had a job to support us. She died in October 2015 and a light seemed to go out in my life.

I've known 2 women who have had much older male partners and its ended badly for them. One woman was in her 40s and he was in his 70s and verbally and mentally abused her day and night. He was in a wheelchair and had dementia, she could take it no longer and left him in the end. This lady warned everyone about ending up with someone much older.
My friends daughter lost her partner last year, he was again 20 odd years older than her. He didn't tell her he was terminally ill until he had 2 weeks left to live. She then had to sort absolutely everything out by herself.
Everyone's opinion on this differs but I think choose someone within a few years of you in terms of age not a generation apart. Plus if they are much older people always think the person is your Mum or Dad or Grandparent even.

My wife is 5 months older than me, which must be the reason i seem so immature in comparison.

We were in the same year at 6th form, so that rather limits the maximum age gap.

I've been (happily) single for 25 years, but my first proper GF was four years older, the second nine years older and the third six years older.

Could combine it with a Zoom afternoon, evening thing. Have lots of rooms, people can wander through, catch up with people they haven't seen since our wedding. Ignore those who are on their ignore list
A special room for those who have to discuss their last visit to the doctor, medication etc.
Not good!

Where did I go wrong? Baring a night in 1974 when I proposed.

This one I like! ;)
