Ghastly - freezing cold in winter and not enough 'give' to be comfortable, although I am a bit bony. The answer is eat more pies and develop thicker 'padding'.

This is to commemorate a group of working class East End artists called the East London Group
...which includes a pencil sharpener
...and has this plaque
Awesome neon benches, my favourite benches in the whole world, and if I ever get a garden or somewhere to put one I'm getting or making one of these

The other year i saw someone actually sitting on the metal bolts that held the bench's plank thingies in place. The plank thingies had rotted away so all that was left was the concrete side bits with 4 inch bolts sticking up. Imagine sitting on an upright metal bolt!
What about a bed of nails...

I live a couple of miles from a company called Filcris. They make all sorts of outdoor stuff from recycled plastic. Our second hand table and benches gave up the ghost last year, so we got one of these

One of my favourite cycling haunts is the Holkham estate in north Norfolk. For years I could just see a nicely located bench under some trees, some distance from the cycle path, but there was always someone sat there every bloody time I rode past.
Eventually I thought sod it, I'm going to sit there and whoever's there today Will have to put up with a cyclist. Then I got there....
