A friend of my uncle who trades in cars and often in classics or the unusual had a genuine low mileage Corsair 2000E for a bit and I had a drive and was genuinely surprised. It had a really smooth and compliant ride on a less than perfect road and it was pretty refined.
You just can't buy a car like that anymore. Modern cars are mostly set up like sports cars. Sure, the Corsair rolls in corners and the steering is a bit vague compared to something modern but the option of a soft riding car has disappeared. Even modern Citroens are a bit harsh and the French magic carpet ride quality that I used to love is gone (judging by the C3 hire car my sister had).
