The commentary suggested she might not have known how far in front she was, or that she was even in the lead!
She had plenty of time to celebrate.

It is what happens when the person who does the chasing knows that they will then be jumped and possibly come in out of the medals!

They all hesitate to see if one of the others does the chasing and by the time they realise that they are all thinking the same way it is too late.

Then they decide to save their energy to fight for silver...
