Plastic plant ties are better because you can reopen them more easily and reuse them. The foam-covered wire sort are useful for holding bits of the bike together, such as bars to frame while you mess with headset bearings.

The plastic ones might. They're like cable ties except twisting the trailing end more than 90° releases it. I do still carry one cable tie just in case they can't do everything, though.
I'll offer up Lantiseptic. It's available in the U.S. and hopefully over there.
It's main ingredients are lanolin and beeswax. Found it at the pharmacy. Not in skin care but by the walkers and wheelchairs??? It's sold to help the incontinent and disabled prevent skin sores.
It works well as a chamois cream.
It's location in the pharmacy has me feeling old though. Incontinence!
Well for those triathletes who just go in their shorts, this could be the thing. Hopefully an end to saddle sores.
Sorry ol' Hoss, but I'm allergic to lanolin. If I spread lanolin and beeswax around my man garden, it's going to swell up in an undesirable manner. That's probably why it's near the walkers and wheelchairs....you're a walker until you rub it in, then you need a wheelchair.....
