I was thinking of the car, not that I bought the current one. Useful for reminding me of the utility and flexibility of the bike in the city, useful also for understanding driver mentality. And, though it's been a while since I did it, good for getting your bike to places that you aren't able to cycle to. Not much more use than buying a train ticket though.

Vital for getting to early morning TT's, most well over 25 miles away and the maximum I've done is a 250 mile to ride an afternoon 10, only to find that the grass cutters hadn't cleared the traffic cones away and the event was cancelled, then a 250 mile drive home!
