Hello from the high desert of Arizona: It's starting to warm up and everything is in bloom (AhhhChooo).
I notice that a lot of CC's Membership is in Europe. Come visit us and see the west end of the Grand Canyon, lots of offroad trails.
Long stretches of paved highway, every thing out here is a long way away from every where else. We have Ghost towns
to see, old mines and a lot of history of the old west. Las Vegas NV to the north and Kingman AZ to the south. Definitely some
place different.

Hi Old Fossil!

It certainly sounds a bit different up there. We do 'lush' here in the UK rather than desert. (We get rather a lot of rain!).

An old friend of mine spent several months in the USA and really loved the desert. I can't remember if it was Arizona or not; I'll ask him next time we get together.

I think I'd find the desert heat way too much. I was okay up to about 75-80 F when I was fit, but prefer 70-75 F now I'm overweight.

Hello

I'm new to Cyclechat.net and wanted to introduce myself and my online bike company. I was looking at google analytics today and noticed that we had many referrals from this site, someone clearly loved their new Dutch Bike.

What a fantstic site! I hope to be able to answer any techie bike questions you may have...

Anyway, if you get a moment take a look at www.mybeautifulbike.com

I would love to hear your comments.

Thanks
Norma

My wife is from Scotland , so it was always the plan to move up , once the kids were settled.

Hi all ,

First post and haven't a clue what to write, anyways my name is David from London. I have been a keen cyclist for years doing mostly sponsored cycles for BHF and a few sportives. I have started to accumulate bikes for some reason, I have 4 at the moment one Raleigh MTB purchased for my partners son almost 10 years ago who is now 6'7 and needs something a little specialised, a Scott Speedster (Ride to Work purchase) and Giant CRS hybrid

I recently purchased a single speed which I find is great fun but I have not been brave enough to try the fixed side yet. I cycle three days into the city about 12/13 miles each way and have recently started cycling with Finsbury Park CC which has been great fun.

Happy cycling.

Hi
been riding bikes for 30 odd years now, and would really like to get into cycling a bit more.
I cycle to work, but would like to increase my mileage and maybe do a bit for charity after losing my Father to cancer on christmas day 2009.
Im looking forward to posting and meeting new cycle buddies!

Hi Sallyann,

I made this mistake too when joining, I think the trick is to start a new topic as not everyone checks out this part of the welcome mat. I'm looking into getting my first road bike later in the year, might just change to road tyres on the mountain bike for now though.

Happy cycling.

Hello to everyone,

I'm David from Liverpool. Like a lot of people I've got the bug back.
Last year, a cyclist went past me , as I was sitting at the lights in my car, just an ordinary fella not dressed with all the gear.
It must of been about 3miles by time I over took him. That was it, I had two bikes in the shed collecting spiders, cobwebs & rust,,,,
ha ha I meant dust. One was my 1st ever bike, an old Eddie Merckx racer , bought in 1976 from James Fothergills in Liverpool. The other
A Raleigh activator. So the next weekend was shed sorting out time. I took my old racer to the tip, have I learnt to regret that,so sentimental.
Fixed the Raleigh up, & I was off.
I got a new MTB last year to commute, & gave my raleigh to my lad, but this year I've bought a new Road bike, a Boardman.
I'm now enjoying the joy's of cycling again.
