Hi from Barcelone!!

My name is Monika but I am also called Nikabike.
I am 37 years old and I want to ride the LEL in 2013.
I have already done some brevets, the longest was last year (610 Km).

I am glad to see that I am not the only one who has to hear "You are mad!!"

OK, I will be reading your posts and see you "soon".

Take care

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi Shaun,

Thanks for the welcome.
I'm not a cyclist. I'm one of those guys who's got to the age where I can say "I used to do that! Might try it again, but not right now."
I live half way along the A76 and try to promote all and sundry that is local, cos that's what I do.

Cheers, Aulyin.

Are we allowed to recommend certain cycle shops on here? The boys at my local independent are unbelievably helpful and deserve a plug!

I know I'm being thick but is there any way of following threads on a forum which I've started, without trawling through all of them?

Thanks,
Duncan

Greetings, Duncan, welcome to CC. You can "watch" topics and forums by clicking the appropriate button at the top of the topic / forum. If you do that, when you get to the forums homepage, you'll see watched forums and topics listed on the right hand side.

Alternatively, you can use the "view new content" link, all the topics that you have posted within will have a black dot to highlight them.

Hi Everyone,

Just found this place and really like the vibe !

My riding is mostly done around the Milton Keynes area ( I live about 20 mins drive from MK in the countryside), at Woburn Sands, Stockgrove Country Park, along the cycle route on the Grand Union Canal ( cycle route 6 i think? ) and the lanes & tracks in between.

BTW I can read the forum but not post on an ipad, is this me ?

Cheers,

Baker

PS Please look out for the new bike question I'll post in the MTB section, especially if you know the places I've mentioned. Thkx

Evening Baker, and welcome along.

Try posting your iPad problem in 'Support and Feedback', that's the place you're most likely to get a sensible answer.

hey, so i may have made a newbie mistake and posted a topic that was supposed to be a 'hello everyone' rather than a newbie post here - my bad - all apologies - i'm a new commuter with a new bike and an even longer commute to begin come the end of next week. hello all

Hi everyone,Thomas here.

Im from Glasgow(don't let that worry you,let it worry me lol) and found the site by accident..thankfully i was not looking for anything xxx rated at the time .I have not owned a bike in years but im looking to get back in the saddle again and as far as bikes go im out the loop as to what is good and what is a waste of cash. From scanning through the site it looks wonderful with so many posters so passionate about their bikes.
