Hi,

Im a long time cyclist who got a bit lapsed but has been back this last year with a vengeance. I currently own a Specialized Tricross Sport 2010 with upgraded brakes tyres and saddle. I will be the proud owner of a Nazca Fuego at the end of the month!

I am a regular poster over at http://www.citycyclingedinburgh.info and this summer I am touring northern europe by recumbent with a streetshow on a carryfreedom trailer. I will keep you updated with that and maybe even blog about it (if Im not too busy having fun).

Im currently looking at supplies for the trip so any camping gear recommendations (especially tents) would not go amiss.

Aboo!

I am no youngster and have been cycling for a long time, 40 years. I have seen a lot of changes some good some bad.
One good one is forums for a feeling of belonging if you are not part of a club or group. Looking forward to reading other peoples tales.

So Hello from me :hello:

Hello Cycle chat
Don't know what to talk about yet. I've got a bike that I am trying to use more often. Not really got any gear. I've noticed a few jokes about bikesters and gym teachers, not sure what that's about. Hope someone can enlighten me and advise what to get.

Hi, I started cycling to work at the end of last summer and really enjoyed it especially when the weather was nice. Initially I did a couple of days a week but now trying to do a full 5 days a weeks when possible. My cycle is 5.5 miles to Cambridge where fortuneatly there is a pretty good cycle path .

Its much more fun then going to the gym and a lot cheaper although I've had a few punctures. I cycled 55 miles last week and hope to keep it going as long as my knees hold up.

Howdy folks,

I've been commuting part of my way to work by bike for the past 3-4 years. Currently working in London just off Victoria Street and cycle to/from Limehouse Station where I catch the train out to where I live in Essex. I've had several near misses in London involving everything from taxis and buses to lorries, pedestrians and far too many with motorcycles. Only been knocked off my bike twice, both times by pedestrians stepping out without looking where they were going.

Currently riding a Specialized Sirrus which is used as my everything bike, commuting, weekend rides and the occasional charity event.

Hi Tony, think I clicked the reply before i wrote it so have got your post on my profile -sorry about that. I commute into London every day on the train and then cycle to Lambeth. I've had a couple of near ones but I always expect the unexpected when I'm riding and that seems to pay off. Ride a fixie which makes you think a bit more about how you ride but it doesn't help with kamikazee pedestrians! I've also just written to Boris about London Bus drivers, some Cabbies (o.K. most Cabbies) stopping in marked cycle margins at junctions - what is it with these Guys!

Hello, I am Nathalie and manage The Peer Activity Support Scheme for The Camden Society in London. I am setting up an inclusive bike club for young people with learning disabilities and / or mental health issues. I was wondering if any members (young adult preferably) would be up for joining in the fun!
I cycle myself everyday with my friend, Mr Brompton!

Hi,

Had a look at this site after the BBC mentioned it in the helmetcam item.

I started cycling again last year to get to the train station every day rather than drive 2 miles. Then I joined the London cycle hire in August to cycle across town to avoidgetting the tube.

That was an eye-opener.

Before that the last bike I ever owned was a BMX in the 1980's. Radical!

Hello to all, especially anyone else from the Colne Valley, Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Hoping to do some weekend rides in the area with other CC members in the coming year.

Live to Ride
Hi all

I am part of a small team that will be running the Great North on the 18th September in aid of Combat Stress. 2 of us however will be cycling the 660 mile round trip from Hampshire to run the race. We leave on Friday 16th and cycle for 2 days (approx 11 hours per day) run the race on the 18th then make the 2 day journey back.
I just wondered about the possibility of meeting a larger group of riders like yourselves as a kind of welcoming end to the finish of our first leg of the cycle ride? It would be around late evening on the 18th when we arrive in Newcastle and I am looking at alternatives to try and raise the profile of our event.
Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards
