Good evening !
Lately I bought my beloved bike:smile:
So I just joined here to talk with Cyclist and their experiences.
I am a bloody newbie to Cycling on a Roadbike.
And I recognized the cloth seems to be expensive:O

Hi Everyone,

I've joined this community since it seems to "keep it real" (horrible phrase), but here I am.

After 20+ years of riding Cannondale /Gary Fisher/ Scott MTB's, I'm thinking it's time to get back to riding a ROAD or X-CROSS bike.

My new commute is a 30 mile round trip which includes:

4.5 miles urban lit roads, including 1 motorway roundabout
7 miles of unlit country roads (60mph limit)
2.5 miles ( 40mph)

As a newbee, I could reccomend to start a new thread on any question you have.

Also I have done it by accident (not really) but do not hijack other peoples thread. Just open a new one for your own question unless it is opened already.

Also make sure you post as many as you can to get your post count higher which will help you to access some parts of the forum. (This is exactly what I am doing right now)

I hope Shaun forgives my advise here.

Hello out there cycle chatterers. Just moved to Berlin from Texas and thus intend to get back on a bike. If my bikes ever get here from the Deep South, of course........

Anyway, glad to have found a forum which is not depressing (at least one other forum reveals that we may, as a species, have not come very far from the beasts {NOT THE CTC FORUM!};) ) and look forward to it allowing me a little light relief.

Best,

Bbb

Hello there,

Okay, so you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello - believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hello everyone,
I'm really called Richard, but my bike riding skills are a bit rusty so wobbler seemed to fit. I've been lurking for a while and thought I should introduce myself. I live in Wolverhampton. I took early retirement 2 years ago, boredom and cream cakes sent me into the shed a couple of weeks ago to find my old bike. After a few rides and lashings of Sudocrem for the saddle sores, I realised how much I enjoyed the experience. So I treated myself to a new bike. This seems a really friendly place with lots of knowledgeable people, you have already been a great help to me. I still have loads of questions and lots more to learn. More than anything I want to share the enjoyment of cycling with other like minded people. I think I am boring my mates a bit now.
Thanks for letting me in.

Hello to all from the sandpit that is Dubai or more recently a building site on hold.! Our cycling season is just kicking as the summer heat recedes to a bearable 32o/c. Anyway I hope to spend sometime chatting with you all over the foreseeable. Happy cycling to all..!
