I've a friend who flew to Dubai last night. I've known him as the Rain God (specifically Dieu Pluie as he is French) for the past 3 years because it is always raining when we go for a ride.

Anyway, as I said, he flew to Dubai last night and the FB update at 2am was along the lines of "It's 28 degrees here".

This morning, his status read "It's raining in Dubai".

Aye you're not wrong, I bumped into the aforementioned Frenchman last night whilst cycling. I then gave him directions to the airport, it's sunny and 32o/c again today so obviously he managed to get his flight home

Seriously it was torrential for about an hour preceded by the usual sandstorm, made for a fun ride last night brought back memories from home..!

Hi my name is Ashley I am 47 and live in the West Midlands. I am a family man in a non cycling family so have to squeeze rides in early morning or whenever I can. I like commuting and on and off road riding for fun and keeping fit. I also enjoy tinkering with and building bikes and have recently got interested in single speed bikes (Masochist).

Hi

"brompton rail" ... ... well I ride a Brompton folding bike and sometimes take it with me on the train - the easy (mostly!) way to combine cycling and train travel.

Mostly interested in folding bikes and quiet cycle routes, too old for the cut and thrust of city cycle commuting and have lost interest in going fast (old and fat you see!!).

Hi Shaun and all pedallers,
I`m keen on Audaxes and our wonderful countryside. I ride all-steel now but am considering a change to carb or titanium so that I can keep going a few more yearson the 200k rides. I expect carb v titanium has already been discussed to the death on this forum.....or has it ? I`d be interested to read it.
Cheers, PS I`m from Hull too, Shaun
