Hello. I'm "fimm". Based in Edinburgh. When I commute I'm a nice lady on a Brompton, but off duty I turn into a grumpy lycra-lout on a road bike ;) who does triathlons and the odd time trial
I'm only on here for the YouTube links...

I have also used a philips body groomer, but only lasted 2-3 uses..

Hi

Hi, just joined this forum...mostly because I have a query about a tagalong bike...would anyone like to suggest which thread I post a query on? I'm after finding the part that fixes the tagalong bit onto the adult bike. Hope tp hear from someone, Claire

 just whack it in beginners, bikes, accessories and clothing or know how, shouldn't think people would mind that much.

Hello , I'm new to this forum. For the last 3 years I had been struggling with a flair up of arthritis but since september last year after being on new medication I got my health back . Ive lost 4.5 stone in weight and a few weeks ago bought myself a hybrid bike and am discovering the joys of cycling . It has helped me keep my weight down and help build up my muscles in my hip joints , and being low impact is one of the best forms of exercise I can do . I only wish I was able to take it up sooner . I live in Gloucestershire and am discovering some fantastic cycle paths and off road trails , yesterday cycled along the Gloucester to shapness canal and i'm loving it ;). The first few rides were a struggle , coming to grips with a very hard seat and stiff legs , but the more I do the easier it seems to get. Now I'm discovering the bike I bought is o.k , but wish I had spent a bit more to get somthing decent . Fortunately my brother is coming up trumps and giving me his "commencal combi" mountain bike , complete with hydrolic disk breaks and good front fork suspension . I am looking forward to collecting it next week ( I think I will give my old bike to my wife lol) . I plan to do a little every day and build up my strength.

Hello

Hi,

Never been here before, seems like a nice place to chat (a lot of bike forum/sites seem a bit over the top). Been cycling for years. Started riding BMX (street) more years ago than I care to mention. I progressed to MTB when it all started out. Have recently got a bit more serious again and seem to be doing most of my riding on then roads, over here in the sunny South West of France where I have been living for the last 6 years, although I, that is to say the family and I are moving back to the UK (York) later this year.

I am hoping to get into condition to join a club when I move back.

anyhow that's me!

;)

Hello All,

Just bought a new bike through the Cycle to Work scheme and also in a bid to get a bit healthier again. Went out on Friday for the first time and totally loved it! Just a shame about the weather over the weekend! looking forward to getting back out again after work.

Have a good time all the time!

New to forum - advice/bike bag request

Hi there, my dad and I are cycling the Somme Valley in July, as part of an action challenge event for MAG, and to transport our bikes across the channel we need a bike bag/box each, so that our cycles can go in the group van. I've done some basic research but would rather not spend 70-150 quid on these, as we'll probably only use them once. Do any Cycle Chat members have any guidance about how to get them cheaply or second hand, or indeed have any bike carriers they might be willing to sell on?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts, Pamela Dow
