Stolen Bike

Hello all

I'm Kelly and I've been kindly pointed in your direction to spread the word that my beautiful pink princess has been stolen.

So she is/ was

Pink Poppy Pashley
Did have gold and pink panniers
brooks seat with a red floral cover
orange and purple bell

Stolen from Bethnal Green Tube station Thursday 11th March

I guess all her little extras would have been removed though I haven't seen another on around with a carrier/ pannier rack

She was a gift from my husband and friends and I really miss her, so if you hear of one up for sale or see, please let me know. She is 10 months old and her brother the black prince is lonely without her too.

Thanks for reading this post and may it help to bring my pushy bike back.

Kelly

Keeping an eye out for it on my commutes. There's a sub section here for stolen bikes. Might want to post there too. In the interim, keep an eye on gumtree / ebay / etc...

Pink Pashley

Thank you very much for keeping an open eye and the advice, I shall find the stolen bikes section.
Have been trawling online each day, though as yet no sign.

Firstly, Welcome to the CC forums Kelly.

Secondly, I'm genuinely sorry to hear about the loss of your obviously much loved Pashley(there are quite a few passionate owners on here). It's even worse that the bike was a present from your husband and friends - making it virtually irreplaceable.

Unfortunately there seems to be a disproportionately high amount of bike theft in our capital city, one the Police seem not to care or be able to do anything about. :becool:

It's also maybe worth your while checking Gumtree or e-bay as an few of our members stolen bikes have appeared on them. :bicycle: Although I'm not sure what can be done if it does(nothing it appears).

Good luck with your search Kelly, I fear you'll need it mate.

All the best.

Hi, folks.
It's good to see this forum and the huge experience it represents.
I've been helping with the Drumlanrig TEAR Fund Challenge as timekeeper for the past 3 years and have now decided it's time to do it myself. I did loads of cycling at uni' and for a couple of years after but then family, work etc etc and I've done very little for 30 yrs. I've restarted 4 weeks ago with my wife's old Dawes on-road/off-road and have been really pleased at how things are going. I'm now commuting twice per week (30ml round trip) and my best single run is 53ml. I hope I'm on course for the Drumlanrig which is on May 1. Planning to buy a new bike. Hopefully with a couple of weeks to practice on it before the event. I'm now 57 with a neck that doesn't bend so much so it will probably be flat bars. Any one have any experiece of Raleigh SF3?
Looking forward to being part of this group.
Cheers,
Iain

Hello - can anyone help??

Just signed up today and need some help on picking a bike.

I am planning to do a 260 sponsored ride in August but have limited funds to buy a bike with.

I have been into many bike shops and they all start at about £550.00, I am considering two options:

1). Buy second hand

2). Buy new but over the internet.

Both will save money but won't give me a feel for how the bike rides. Currently having researched on line these are the short listed options given my £400/450 ish budget.

Giant Defy 4, Giant SCR 2.0, Ralieigh Airlite 200, Specialized Allez 27, Claude Butler Criterium or a Trek Apollo.

Can anyone advise on any of these or how to really get to test a bike befre buying???
