Hello Shaun,
Having had my last bike stolen I have decided to join your forum for guidance in order to get a replacement.
I am a very fit 78 year old male and cycle where ever possible purely for pleasure, there are some very pleasant rides around central Somerset.
My need is for a leasure bike, I am drawn towards the obvious quality of the Giant leasure bikes. Come on you experts, what do you think of the Expression N7, and the City CRS. Is the hub gearing on the Expression a good idea?
I look forward to a deluge of replies, don't let me down.
Regards briary9.
hi and welcome to cc BRIARY9.
cant help you on the bikes as i am new to cycling myself, but you will defiantly get the help you need on the forum.
really helpful and friendly people on ere.

Hello lovely people.

The first signs of sun on 1st March gave me a kick up the behind to get back to my cycling commute after being too scaredy cat to do it in the dark.

Then decided my bike was far too creaky and I was due a new one.

Doing some research ended up finding you lot so thought I would say hi ;)

Hello folks,
I just signed up to Cycle Chat. I have been interested in cycling from an early age. I think it was the classic Tours de France between Greg LaMonde and Laurent Fignon that really captured my imagination. This then grew year on year as I began to understand how the tactical battles are fought out on the grand tours. So now I am completely nuts about it and thought It's about time I joined a forum to discuss it with like minded folk. I cycle myself to keep fit and have fun but have never raced. I am a bit of fair weather cyclist but I do use my turbo trainer in the winter even though It's so boring compared to the real thing. So here's to some fun!!

Hi madguern welcome to cc.
glad you got better.
wow wish i had clocked up that mileage, only came back to cycling 4 days ago after a 25 year break.
only done 60 miles up to now still finding hills hard work though.

Cheers, The difficult bit was the wind, rain , snow and ice !!! It becomes quite wasy to rack up the miles. Problem is need to raise the game next year so will have to start some longer recreational rides too.

Hi Guys,

I'm Dave and live in Cornwall!! (yes, the hilly bits!!)

Only found cycling about six months ago after spending most of my youth playing rugby, and then surfing. Wish i had discovered the joys of cycling much earlier but there you go.

Currently riding around 40miles on a trip out, which I hope to build on as i get stronger. I am working towards my first sportive (which will be the tor of Cornwall) so have plently of work still to do!

I have am a admin/moderator on other forums (mainly regarding motorsport) and have joined cycle chat to enjoy some banter and pick up some top tips! Thanks
