Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi Shaun,
My name is Paul and I live in Frinton on Sea and I am married with 2 teenagers. I like to get out on my bike as it gives me time to think and assess things but it is just nice to get out and ride. Started riding about 3 years ago and in first year did 3000 miles. Yes I know, excessive but I lost 5 stone in 3 months and was addicted. Now on another diet and back in the saddle but not going mad this time as I want it to last. Like charity rides as it benefits others and now into working on bikes also. Thanks for letting me sign up.

Hi new on here to but Hello and welcome.

Hi everyone,
My name is Phil. Originally from near Tamworth but now a naturalised Welshman living in a beautiful part of the Vale of Glamorgan. That's near Cardiff if you don't know Wales.
My dad got my first bike, that I shared with my brother over 50 years ago. It was hand painted, including the rims, and too big for either of us but because it was a girls bike and no crossbar it didn't matter. Single speed and rod brakes. I loved it and have been riding almost without a break since then. Mostly on the road but borrowed a MTB a couple of years ago and did an off road exped from Winchester to Eastbourne on the South Downs Way. Awesome. Also rode from Le Havre to Spain in 8 days once with 4 other idiots.

I've been cycling for around 4 years now, purely for commute purposes. I average 12 miles every weekday but I crunched my bike into a curb/wall and snapped the bottom bracket as well as bending the wheels. Whilst I was picking up the spokes I realised that it's time to upgrade my game from a hybrid to a road bike. Which is why I am here.

Hello,
I'm new on here, my name is Andrew. I live in Kent on the border of London.
I have just started riding my old Carlton to and from work in order to try and get a little bit fitter, as middle age spread is setting in.
That's all folks.

Hi, I'm Illaveago , I'm 61 and as the name suggests if it's broke I will have a go at fixing it. I've recently repaired my friends old BSA cycle which he bent when we were at school in the 60s. He ran into the back of a car and bent the frame. My friends brother had been using it for years without realising it and it was when he was about to throw it out that I said that I would have a go at restoring it. My friend returned a few weeks ago for the Waterloo Bicentenary, he has lived in Australia for many years and I thought that I would surprise him.
I have recently been on a few cycle rides with a couple of friends, not too far 10 or 12 miles in the evenings, it's more freewheeling and looking over hedgerows than cycling, which is fine as I easily get tired.
