Hello everyone. I'm new to this forum business. Been living in south somerset for last 20 years but moving to east devon soon. I ride a street machine gt and an ageing ridgeback. Would love to hear from other recumbent riders in the south west.

Hello, my name is Tom, im 43 and thanks to some quick intervention I will see my 44th birthday in a couple of weeks.
looking to get back in the saddle again after a long time out of it.
present bike is an old ( hardly used ) GT Palomar in gold paint - looking to move to something lighter and possibly more sporty.

Hi all!
Seems I am rather "foreign" from all the posts I've seen so far, but alas, I'm staying anyways! I'm a SAHM from Manitoba, Canada who has recently rediscovered my love of cycling. It began as a means of losing weight and quickly bloomed back into a FT obsession (when the kiddos aren't urgently needing something, of course!).
Looking forward to meeting some fellow cycling lovers and just shooting the s--t about life in general.
Cya!

Hello all

Thanks for letting me join the group.

I am a return to cycling I never really left just stopped riding for a while.................well okay best part of 20 years!!!!!!
Cost me a lot about seven stone!!!!!!

I started back on my old Woodrup 1967 I think. just prepping a Mercian " KIng of Mercia race" frame to go to derby to be restored to beauty again. At the minute I am on a Trek Madone 2009.
Look forward to chatting

Steve

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hello all! I havent cycled in about seven years (and when I did cycle the five miles to work and back each day many years ago, I had a variety of incidents and accidents involving one or more of the following - cars, cows, chickens, unexpected gravel and unseen kerbs) yet a few weeks ago signed up (along with my good friend Katy) to do a 500km ride for charity. After signing on the dotted line, then remembered I didnt have a bike so better go buy one - my experience at Halfords was pants (for want of a better word) but I at least came out of it with a basic mountain bike.

Now I am getting used to being back in the saddle, and am enjoying it much more than I used to, so here's hoping I get the cycling bug and keep going long after the event!

BTW, any sensible cycling advice offered will be received gratefully, God knows I need the help!!

Hello all,
I was lurking for a few years and finally decided to join in. I've been cycling regularly for the past 4/5 years and initially found cyclechat while looking around for a new bike. I got myself a hybrid 3 years ago, but now saving/hoping/looking for a road bike. Browsing these forums provides a 'fix' between rides ;)

Hello,

I don't cycle anywhere near as much as I used to, or would like to, mainly due to working full time 16 miles from home in a job that requires me to have the use of my own car at the drop of a hat, plus a fracture last year that took me out of action for several weeks during which time I piled on the pounds a bit and whilst the bone has healed, the muscles are not back to full strength. The wife and I have fairly recently acquired a tandem, which we are gradually getting used to and is a major change to the solo riding that I am accustomed to, and queries as to the proper use of which I expect will be the origin of most of my queries on this forum!

Thank you

Dan
