Hello all. I'm a casual biker getting back on a bike after 20+ years. Just started using my old jalopy to commute and on the look out for a new bike.

Hello there, just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Leonard, a keen cyclist and film-maker. I look forward to being a part of the forum.

Hello people, just joined so great to see so many like minded souls, used to ride a lot when i was younger, just started back cycling after a long hiatus (too long), hopefully my username will be a lot less inappropriate by the summer!

Happy Wheels.

Hey, I'm David

I'm currently in the military, I've been in Bahrain for 6 months, however now I'm back...... to cycle.

I've travelled lots, outside the military to America, Thailand, Ghana, New Zealand for the rugby world cup 2011 and Australia.

because of this I always have itchy feet and I intend on leaving the military in 2 years to travel around the world starting with a ferry journey to Amsterdam at the start of 2018.

Anyone wishing to help, advise, join.

please feel free to get in touch.

Cycling?
There is decent ride down the west coast of the US. North-South as wind only blows in one direction. But nothing stopping you starting in Canada and finishing in Chile. Not done all Canada Mexico but have enjoyed what I have done.
Stay at State or Federal camp sites if camping. All they do is put you in a spot unsuitable for Winnebago's. I was charged as little as a £1 in one site 10 years back.

Used to be Highway 1 all the way but about half is now Highway 101 which straightens the road in places and can be like a busy A road. But a lot of the times the old road still exists although for some reasons the locals might block it to cars? Easily cycle round it through. Occasionally part of the road may have fallen into the sea not a problem on bicycle.
Turning right at Eureka is a prime example of the old Highway 1.

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hello everyone
I am not sure why I have joined this site, it sorta seemed like a good idea at the time. I am a 'senior' lady and have cycled locally for years but have sort of got 'out of the habit' lately and now want to start again. I have an old ladies racer and am planning to build up gradually so just need a little encouragement I guess. :hello:

Hi everyone, making a return to cycling after 23 years. Initial reason, health and fitness, bonus reason, in this past week I've realised how much I've missed it! :-)
