Hello peeps
I'm a commuter cyclist - just getting back into doing so having not done so for a couple of years. I used to do 11 miles each way (urban), but I've moved work and it's only three miles now. So not a proper cyclist at all. I've toyed with the idea of joining a club for a long time, but it'll probably never happen ...

HI & :welcome:
If you ride your bike you are a proper cyclist. Whether you ride for 3 miles, 30 or 300.

Hello. My name is David.
I've been cycling for about 3 months. I've a road bike and just got a turbo trainer as the weather has been so bad. Cycling for fitness and to see the local hills.

Hi All,
my name is Fred and I like to ride bikes and eat cake. It's a vicious circle.
I have, so far, been mainly an off-roader but have tagged along on half a dozen of the Brighton rides over the last five years with the FNRttC crew on my hardtail. The wife also rides but prefers the road, so we now own skinny-tyred bikes too and try to do a few rides with the Club (Wealden Cycle Club, Sussex) as well as the odd Sportive and other events.
I don't have a turbo-trainer or rollers because I am lucky enough to have a single speed mountain bike, so nothing generally stops me getting out, even though it might be on my own !

Hi all. Returned to cycling after about 4years off. Got a good cycling background in touring and long day rides. Currently training for some long distance events later this year

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hi Shaun or anyone for that matter!,

Just got into cycling and using it for my 5 mile ride to work (and back). I use a Specialized Road bike and am loving the experience though my skills are defo in need of improvement!

Sorry if it's silly question but how do I create a new post for people to reply to if I can't find an existing one that is helpful?

Thanks
Dave

Hi

Just joined. Have been cycling on and off for years on my Raleigh hybrid. Upped my mileages last summer for a number of reasons and the cycling bug will not stop biting. A beautiful Cannondale road bike stands alongside my old steel steed.
