Hi, Karen from Oxfordshire here.
Haven't been able to afford my own bike but have fantastic friends who have built me a beautiful Trek to use.
Only been MTB for about 8 months, but totally hooked
Thought this would be a great place to pick up tips and chat to like minded people

hi

I'm a regular cyclist with ambitions to do all the year round, and even do the pbp again.

Hello Chaps, Chapesses..

I'm new here, am 23 Years Old and have been cycling for about 6 months. Took part in the Devils Punch Sportive last year, 72 miles is my current longest ride and try to get out as much as possible.

Aiming to do a few more Sportives this year and to join a local club.

Currently ride a Specialized Allez Race.

Hello Everyone

My name is Tony, I'm 58, I live in Wolverhampton and I have tried to get back to riding a bike after a number of years away. I ride my bikes for fun mostly, and as a way to get fitter and maintain a moderate level of fitness. I have a Pashley Guvnor, a Claude Butler hybrid and a Carrera road bike that I bought second hand. (All of which I love but the Guvnor has a special place in my heart).

Happy Cycling

Tony

It's been four years nearly since I last visited so I thought I should probably start again. Since I last posted the cycle club we started has folded but we've got some great cycling buddies out of it. The big news is that after getting made redundant last year my wife and I have decided to take six months out and cycle around the coast of Britain. Not very original I know but we are restricted by family commitments here in the UK. As we build up to departure it's quite likely that I will have questions that I'm sure members here can answer, hence the re-appearance. If anybody wants to know more about what we are doing they can find us at www.gillandtony.co.uk Cheers for now. Tony

Hello to all,

My first post! I didn't know the forum existed until someone mentioned it to me today. I am a road biker with a cube agree gtc and also a cube hybrid. been cycling now for just under a year and am loving it. Just this morning, I have entered into my first challenge for charity. A 100 mile bike ride from Cardiff to Tenby in May. I am really looking forward to it and the associated training to get me there. My longest ride so far is 35 miles so have got some training to do to reach 100!

I started a just giving page this morning too, its all very new to me but trying to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care. If you would like to donate then please do, any little bit helps! http://www.justgiving.com/Shillbrothers

Now time to have a good look around the forums, it looks vast so I may be here for some time!

Hello! I'm a yoga teacher currently based in Edinburgh. I say currently because I'm hoping to move to Spain (Alicante) in the spring. I specialise in yoga for athletes, teaching mostly runners and cyclists but even the odd rugby player. Yes, some of them are odd..) I think it's all the knocks to the head..^_^

If anyone lives in or near Dalkeith I am running a class for runners and cyclists in the rugby club on Monday nights at 7pm. It's aimed at beginners and trust me you will not be the least flexible person in the class! Message me if you're interested?

I used to cycle a lot but have had to give it up due to knee issues - hence taking up the yoga. Now it's just trips to the shop and back or the occasional forest cycle up in Perthshire. The yoga has definitely helped so if you want to know more about that drop me a line, whether you live in Edinburgh or not I will happy to answer questions. I've just completed my yoga sports coach training so have had lots of insight into how yoga can help in specific sports.

:hello: @gordong65 and :welcome: to Cyclechat ! :wahhey:

Your timing could hardly have been better ! It's what we call an RV (Rendez-Vous) ride, where someone will name a date, time and cafe where they will be and anyone is very welcome to come along and ... well ... chat about cycling, drink coffee :cuppa: and eat CAKE :hungry:.

Each person can choose how far (or how short) they ride :bicycle:, how many hills they go up and down or if they take the train to the station and ride the 500m to the cafe !

Look forward to riding with you and meeting you soon !

Hello to all

This is my first post on this forum.

My name is Shelby, I'm 18 and currently studying at a university in West Yorkshire. I cycled a lot when I was younger and thanks to some persuasion from a group of friends started cycling again about 2 years ago and now you can't get me off a bike. I have cycled a lot around my local area and the three villages surrounding it and am looking for a new adventure. I love being outside and finding a thrill wherever I can. As you can tell from the picture, I love archery. I'm also a drummer and do quite a lot of hill walking. I'm excited for the coming year of cycling and plan to do a heck of a lot so if your in the local area then send me a message, always looking for someone new to go cycling with.

Thanks, Shelby

Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun
