I'm doing this in slightly the wrong order as my first post was ages ago - sorry chaps and chappesses! One of your helpful members gave me some info some time ago when I was looking into bringing my very fetching Pink & White with mottled Purple blotches Dynatech 700 kicking and screaming into this century.
I live just north of Blackburn, and over the course of the last 12 months or so, have been making gradually longer trips into the Bowland wilderness. I usually manage to get out a couple of times a week, and tend to do at least 30-40 miles each time, but as my speed and stamina improve I'm aiming to extend this to covering at least 100 miles most weeks. Chores, children and playing-out passes allowing.
In the end, the bike remained firmly old school, complete with ridiculously optimistic 53/39 chainrings, and down-tube shifters, but I did manage to track down a 13-24 freewheel which makes things just a little bit easier for my puny legs.
I have now spotted an advert for a touring bike on the forum, which
could be just the job to haul my most recent
eBay purchase of an Islabike trailer - ad says 53cm, but it looks bigger... But it looks like I need to hijack a few of you good people's threads before I can make enquiries in the For Sale section, hence this intro to begin with. If any of you happen to know my target number of posts, please let me know. Equally welcome would be one of the Mods taking pity on me and uprating my permissions - I come in peace, honestly.
