Hello,

So you've signed-up, got your user account, now all you need to do is get posting .... ah, um, er, What do I say?

Well, it's dead easy - just say Hello and tell us a little bit about yourself and whereabouts you're from (so we can invite you along to rides!!)

Believe me, once you get that first post under your belt you'll be off!

My name's Shaun by the way, and I own and operate CycleChat.

If you need any help or advice on using the forums, or want to ask a question but don't want to do it publicly - just send me a PM (private message).

Hope you enjoy, and welcome to CycleChat

Cheers,
Shaun

Hello, I am 46 overweight and badly unfit after eating drinking and smoking like a party animal for the last 26 years. I have just got a bike and plan on riding it to and from work (either or at first, alternating days) my aim is to cycle to and from work and most other places I need to be on a daily basis. It is about 5 and a half miles to work. If I use it daily I will be covering about 20 miles a day. I cycled to work the other day for the first time and my legs where knackered and I had too get off and push on two hills (the shame) BUT i will beat this...... and errmmm hello everyone! )oh and I gave up smoking about 5/6 months ago!

Hi Also new to the Forum(Obviously)......I have been cycling for about a year. I am thinking of upgrading my wheels, and I was curious to know....From start to finish, as In.... Between wheels, tyres, hubs, Skewars, new Cog....What do I need to know in order to Uprgrade the Wheelset? I am using a 2010 Scott s30 Speedster, with a mix if Tiagra(fd), and 105(bd) Groupset, and its a 9 Speed(or does this matter?). All information is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Hi Jonnyboggs12 & welcome, I am also new to this forum but not to cycling, the right wheels can make a big difference to bike, in my opinion the lighter the better, but this is not always the case, a heavily loaded tourer needs far stronger wheels and more spokes than a super light racer, I think if you post your question in one of the other forums ie Beginners or General Cycle Chat I'm sure you'll get some good advice.
