The hill that probably changed everything today.
I was in an interview in Feldberg, (uphill). and heading for Neustadt (downhill) This hill changed things because part of the job I'm being interviewed for is emergency night time cover in the clinic I'd be working at. This would mean getting to the clinic in under an hour in the event of a nocturnal emergency, which isn't going to work with a bike when the clinic is ca. 400m higher than the nearest town*.
Which is a bummer, because emergency cover shifts would have been a handy lever to gain flexible time to travel to Stuttgart at weekends.
Ho, hum. Another interview next week.
Also, it was a bl**dy fun downhill...

Feldberg, it turns out, is nearly 200m higher than Snowdon.
Frankly, working in a place higher than Snowdon would be pretty cool.
