Nice bike. Drop bars and disk brakes? The times they are a changin'. I like the top brakes too, are they linked to the drop levers?

Yes, they're "crosstop" levers, quite common on cyclocross bikes. I have them on my CX bike (which is also my commuter) and find them invaluable. Disk brakes are also increasingly common on CX bikes and make good sense for a commuting bike that you're likely to use all year round in all kinds of weather, though I have cantis on mine.

Very nice!! I would say that seeing as I have the same bike though!
Although I'm currently not talking to mine after the chain snap on the way to work this morning.

Defo need some guards... I can show you some pics of mine if needed as it required a bit of stay-sawing on the front!!

Thanks all, Im really happy with the bike.
Had my first commute on it today and managed to take 8 minutes off my best time!! I didnt put any extra effort in and got stuck at quite a few lights this morning.

with regard to the mudguards, I have some zefal ones that just attach to the hole in the fork but the front fork my my CX doesnt seem to have a hole... Theres a mark but it doesnt look like its been drilled!

here's a pic, do all mug guards need to be fitted there?
This is the inside of the front fork

How weird!! Yep, there should definitely be a hole there!
Is it not a removable plug or something?
