It's been a chilly day, bright early doors, but then clouding over later, with showers and spectacular rainbows.
Didn't sleep terribly well. Had to get up and do some stretches as my back was cramping. Spent the morning in the company of a friend and her dogs, having a brisk walk around the local playing fields. Was definitely woolly hat and gloves territory. Picked up some nice books in the book exchange - three cook books (two Nigella Lawson, one Gennaro Contaldo), a book on a Belgian expedition to Antarctica that the parental will enjoy reading, and a book on watercolour techniques.

Caught up on the chores, watched some horse racing from Cheltenham, and then toddled off into town to do a full shop and a spot of yellow stickering. Waitrose drew a blank - nothing I particularly wanted at prices I was happy to pay. Tesco wasn't much better. Nothing at all in the fruit & veg and the chilled reductions were decidedly ungenerous, so again, I didn't bite. However, green bins yielded a slightly squashed box of rice krispies, about ten assorted tins of tomatoes, chickpeas and kidney beans and four hundred Earl Grey teabags, while the in-store bakery produced a loaf of sourdough bread, some croissants and thirty two HCB.
Supper was soup, fried egg & avocado on toast, then the last of the cheesecake-stuffed pancakes.
Now sat by the fire watching MOTD.
