I was wondering why you needed to change them and then it dawned. Doesn't the postal service have more pressing matters to deal with? what happens if you still have some after the swapping deadline?

If you put the postage in correctly and add those randomly is it treason?

Also I seem to remember that it was technically illegal to stick a stamp to a letter so the head was upside down in the UK, or was that a myth?
I think they will still accept the wrong stamp but will not deliver unless a surcharge is paid. Privatisation!
Probably a royalist thought it was disrespectful to have it the wrong way up.

Bit nippy last night but this sun is welcome, it was lovely in Anglesey at the weekend, hard to believe it is still winter really, bit of snow in Snowdonia mind you but not much.

I just found this in the storeroom while tidying up. Someone seriously though this was how to store small parts for repairs.

I'm pretty sure this past Sunday afternoon our home was struck by ice fallen from a commercial airliner
I was doing laundry on the 2nd floor of our 3 floor condo when I heard a loud noise on the roof
then I heard more rumbling sounds like a herd of deer running on the roof
then I saw a huge white blob fly past a back window
went out to the backyard & saw large pieces of ice on the patio
we didn't have any ice or snow on our roof, so it's must have come from up above, somehow, somewhere

I grew up in a house under the final approach to Manchester Airport, and it wasn't unknown for people to have bits of plane land in their garden.

Yes it's a myth.
As for the stamps it's partly updating to sorting machines. But many they are trying to update the image stamps and keep them relevant. The QR code will allow you to add a personal message to the stamps which you can print at home. Which the receiver will be able to play back.

The deadline was 31st January but it come with a 6 months grace period so you actually have until 31 July.
One thing to remember is Christmas and commemorate stamps are not being changed.

Or rooftiles blown off when concord landed, that was an event!

We've friends who live a few miles away from Doncaster airport. They use to the on the flightpath of the Vulcan, it use to fly over most days when it was allowed to fly.

We've also got friends who live at the back of the Wildlife park they get woken by the lions roaring. Sitting out on a summers evening in the garden is like being in the middle of a safari.

No Chinese balloons floating nearby, I presume? 🤔
