Same here, at uni then, and taxes were raised and the price went up. I got the 'flu and figured I would not pick up again, due to the health risks and expense. Very glad I quit, but I was miserable for a time.

Something similar to how I gave up - had something just short of full flu and stopped smoking to give my system a chance to recover and never got round to re-starting . Oddly enough it was the same weekend that my step brother's youngest daughter was born.

You swine - you've just had me looking at taster sessions at Lea Valley Velodrome - £40 for an hour's taster (including bike & helmet hire, extra for shoes) and £20 return train next Friday. And I'm not working...

Thank you one and all.I have been out since 08-15 till 22-45,a church conference.Great people,a wonderful Thai meal at Jinos in Headingley beer and wine ,chocolate.Not too fussed over the Life Coach ,seminar who was a nice guy,but aged 73 and not academic not the best way to spend my birthday.

Went to the Vale of Belvoir to collect one parent and for lunch out (in a playgym/garden centre café frequented by cyclists ), then collected son no. 1 in Lincoln and visited the other parent in n hospital there. Not good news but they're doing more tests on Monday after which I hope we'll get a prognosis.

Lotus 49. It is a Rob Walker one which I'm going to use to build up a Jim Clark Gold Leaf body that I have . It is cheaper than buying all of the components I would need .

Ah, that'll be the dark blue one, then. IF my memory hasn't failed me. And no, I haven't looked it up.
