Deutsche Bahn seem to think they're doing well to achieve two out of the three above.

Train 1: (Stuttgart-Karlsruhe) Wlan, Punctual, no bog.
Train 2: (Karlsruhe Offenburg) No W-Lan, Punctual, Working bog.
Train 3: (Offenburg-Freiburg) W-Lan, Stopped for a rest for about ten minutes in the middle of nowhere, working Bog (at least people kept going in and out).

It's noticeable that the older trains seem to work where it's important, even if the W-lan doesn't. According to an announcement on one of the stations the ten minute delay was for "repairs to the train", which is worrying especially as they're brand new.

Also slightly annoying the way DB announces "All planned connections will be met" as if they've somehow pulled out all the stops and achieved something out of the ordinary.

I remember on one commute the 3rd rail unit lost a shoe & some time was spent making sure the remains were strapped out of the way so we could continue. I will grant the train wasn't new, not by a long chalk.

Right, I'm back... It wasn't supposed to rain, but rain it did. Glad I went down - as always - but now I'm totally drained.

Now sitting back and relaxing and having a :cuppa: and a cheese toastie.

The local council have changed the car parking charges, and it's now no longer free to park in the station car park on a Sunday. Ergo all the parking bays in Station Road were full and the car park itself was empty. Bah. So I had to cough up. And it's gone up from £1.50 for four hours plus to £3 for three hours max stay...

But on a pootle down to The Dean, I noticed that the Jacklyn's Lane car park still has the old prices and free on a Sunday. It's somewhat less convenient, but at least I won't have to watch the clock next time...

I have to eat beef, support some of my old chums from uni.

Tomahawk rib-eye steak with potato and corn for dinner, a local store near me often puts out the fancy cuts at discount, which is nice. I suppose you have to do something with it. Porterhouse, T-bone, the rib-eyes all seem to come through there. I suppose the rich folk are all eating vegan more.

Had a tomahawk steak for Christmas - it was truly lovely. Beef rib / ribeye has to be one of the best cuts out there for flavour and tenderness. The steak I got was so big, it did the two of us for quite a few sandwiches as well as two main meals.

I'd struggle going vegan, but would much rather eat far less of really good quality meat than plates piled high with the cheap stuff.

By cheap, I mean intensively reared and factory farmed, rather than a not-so-desirable cut.
