A 98km ride today. I quite like sharing these on Strava as it winds up those who always have to round a ride up, for instance to 100km. Where as my distance is just a function of the time I had available and what speed I averaged. I don’t try and round things up, in fact during a ride I don’t pay attention to distance.

Had a lovely luncheon of two slices of multigrain toast, one with homemade gravlax, one with brie & cranberry chutney, plus an apple, a pear and two :cuppa:

It's been raining on and off all afternoon, so that kiboshed any firewood cutting. But I laundered my coat (goodness me, it was grubby!), scanned and printed some lace patterns for the parental unit, and created and printed some stuff for my own projects, including making the card that will go alongside my flowers on Sunday when I go to visit Paul's grave.

The printer is in the utility room because of the space it takes up, and it was colder in there than it is outside. It was not a pleasant experience working in there this afternoon. I shall have to rethink how I work on my archive at the moment.

Anyways, I am now thawing out, enjoying a :cuppa: and a chocolate biskit.

Turned out a nice sunny day so got some tidying up in the front garden but there is always more to do.
I find the garden is getting to be bit of a burden. The top garden can be left to wild flowers but even there the growth has to be kept under control.
The front facing the roadway has to be better as it used to be rumoured that you had to pass a gardening test before being allowed to live in this part of town and my nearest neighbours on either side are fanatical gardeners.
Daylight much longer today with the clear sky and before I closed the curtains I could see a long convoy of vehicles coming over the Gualine Dubh two miles away as they had dipped headlights on. Traffic from a ferry most likely.
High up on the Morvern hills a white blob caught my attention which with binocs turns out to be a caravan with car parked beside it. They appear to be harvesting trees but it must be in a dip not visible from here and will be one of the itinerant workers.

Went to a funeral today. My mate was the son in law of the lady who died.He took the service,no Minister no Priest no Celebrant, the daughter did the eulogy,it was brilliant. The stories came from the heart as they were not being read by a stranger,we had some laughs and smiles. It was excellent.

No, my favourite racing driver, the younger of a pair of racing brothers. Paul was killed when the suspension failed on his car, and it smashed head on into an earth bank at high speed. Pic below (from 1991) is of Paul and his older brother, Derek.

My archive is dedicated to Paul and his career, although I have a fair bit of stuff on Derek as well.
