@DCLane I learnt early, be upfront and play to the strengths not the differences. If they don't get you don't need them.

Had a lovely luncheon consisting of a sausage sandwich (with a dab of mustard), an apple, a banana, half an avocado and two :cuppa:

Only felled and cleared up most of two oak trees. That was because I didn't quite get the placement of the cuts right, and one of them ended up dangling in its neighbour, and it took me aaaaaages to UN-dangle it. Ditto a couple of dead ash branches that I lopped off. I must be out of practice to make the same mistake more than once... :banghead:

Anyways, it's really good quality firewood, and it's now all in lengths of around three and a half feet. I'll haul it in tomorrow, and then I can make a start on cutting it up.

My shoulders, arms and hips are aching rather thoroughly after all of the pulling, and pushing and yo-heave-hoing... Who needs a gym when there's the heating to feed?

Now sat down with a :cuppa: and a couple of chocolate biskits.

Having a 5 year old granddaughter, your mention of a frozen hat brought this to mind.

I guess you don't cut the trees from the top down like some.
