so mom took Dad's watch back, with a white elastic band, that I put on for her & she gave me 3 of her old watches that she might like to wear again
- she doesn't care for the Dad watch & elastic band, (at 93 her wrist is pretty skinny but her hand "width" probably hasn't shrunk), so I hope to get it back
- got all 3 of her old watch batteries replaced at jewelry store, so I'll bring those to her & hope she is happy with them, again. 1 has a leather band & the other 2 have expansion style metal bands

Apparently, if I press the remote locking button on my car key once and then for a long second press, it will open all the windows a couple of inches. Today I learned that it is possible to do this while the key is in my pocket and pressed against other keys. There are better days for this to happen.

The person in front of me in the Aldi queue with a long long pile of shopping left the queue with her still packed trolley. I thought she'd gone to pick up some forgotten item but it turns out that she'd managed to get out of the store with the trolley. Cue Aldi staff appearing from all directions in the car park ready to apprehend our shopshifter. Waiting while this was going on ensured that enough icy air was able to circulate and bring the car interior to sub-zero conditions.

I discovered today - every day's a school day - that little hoppity birds are absolutely hopeless on ice. Robins and sparrows. Hop, skid and a splat!

Just imagine the how much more of an ambush if she's tried to take a basket past the till

My lunchtime "Freezer Surprise" was a fail. Raided the freezer this morning for some lunch (in the office all week). The left over Phad Thai (homemade) had been in the freezer for longer than I remember - somewhat stale, so was binned. Had to rely on a large scone with cream and jam (left overs from a meeting). Oh, and I've got an apple going spare.

Why was the apple going spare What did you do to annoy it

Four supermarkets it took this evening simply to find two bananas that would be ready for eating Thursday/Friday. Morrisons & Lidl all decidedly green. Asda on the turn so did buy two but really for the weekend, then Aldi stacks of green ones and another box full of ones yellow but not overly so - perfect. Obviously bought other stuff and at long last after months of looking found Asdas free from Viennese fingers dipped in chocolate - just hope they are nice.

My Tesla-owning neighbour has an outdoor socket outside his apartment to charge the car from but I see this evening that it obviously wouldn't reverse slightly up hill in the deep snow so it has been abandoned at the other side of the car park far away from the charging socket. I wonder how he will charge it overnight now. Running an extension lead across a car park would be a bit of a a hazard.
