On the hunt today for non J & J 'talc' for the GLW, went into Roy's, a local and well known regional firm. Found some non J & J, but no price on the shelf. Decided the queue was too long to wait, so as I left, I remarked to the security lad at the door about the missing price tag.
He immediately said that if I showed him where the item was, he would find out. Showed him, he went behind the till, thus 'overriding' the queue and had it scanned for the price. Good price, sold - ! ^_^
Now that is a grand example of good customer service - ! :okay:
The guys waiting in the queue might be less convinced about their good customer service.

Ahh, but because the lad went straight behind the tills, they probably didn't even notice what he was doing - !

It's been a warm and lovely sunny day here chez Casa Reynard after a chilly, grey start.

Did not sleep well, and it took me a long time to drop off. Madam Lexi seemed to know I was out-of-sorts, and slept the whole night on my pillow with her paw on my face. She's just such a wonderful cat.

Met up with a friend for our weekly dog walk. It was just the panacea I needed. Stopped off at the book exchange on the way home and picked up two cook books - one on cakes and the other by Clarissa Dixon-Wright, one half of the Two Fat Ladies.

Had a lovely luncheon of wholemeal toast, hummus, fruit and a :cuppa:

After, I ironed my white coat for Saturday - it's cotton drill, so creases horribly, and I also ironed the white coat that I borrowed from the above friend for my steward. I normally work on my own when judging, but this time, I have taken on a novice steward. It's a good way of putting something back into the cat fancy, passing on what I've learned to someone else. The person in question is a good friend, so it should be good fun. Also, she's an accountant, so keeping track of paperwork should be a cinch!

That done, I had a quiet afternoon. Have curled up with a book for a bit, and then have done some writing. Am now sat by the fire with a nice :cuppa:

The last day of my working week completed. A long weekend and a trip to Connemara beckon. I'm looking forward to it even if the weather forecast isn't that great.

I should have put the bike in the car this evening but I didn't. It can wait until the morning and hopefully my nosey neighbour will still be in bed and I'll get peace to do it.

In other news, the Mull of Galloway lighthouse is 195 years old today. I really enjoyed my visit and tour last year, despite suffering panic attacks when out on the gantry around the lantern. Heights were never my strong point.
