It's been a lovely sunny day here chez Casa Reynard, albeit with a brisk, cool breeze.

Slept well. Had a quiet morning doing chores. And somehow managed to scald myself on my left wrist. At least it hasn't blistered, and a dab of Sudocrem has taken the sting out of it.

A lovely lunch of two slices of toast, one with cold, thinly sliced roast beef, the other with this cheddar cheese spread stuff, plus a banana, a pear and two :cuppa:

Kitchen afternoon here, doing all the prep for supper, along with a couple of other bits and bobs. The house smells of onions and garlic somewhat... The other thing I've done is replace the strap on the vintage Longines watch I bought myself for my Cake Day - I picked up a stitched (not glued) pigskin strap on the Bay of E for the massive sum of £3.50. It's actually a little bit too narrow to fill the space between the lugs, but it is very stiff and will relax and soften with wear. Actually, I still have a jar of Hide Food lurking in amongst dad's old upholstery tools...

My judges reports from Saturday are now online HERE if anyone fancies seeing what I got up to...

Now sat down with a nice :cuppa: and a biskit.

Postie delivered a pair of Shimano brake pads, um.. double checked, eBay listing definitely says two pairs. Message sent.
Post WAH Aldi via B&Q recycling trek. The easterly was noticeable going and the lowering sun a pain on the return.
The items for recycling were an old outdoor light and an electronic animal deterrent found in the shed during the tidy up on Sunday. Think they had been put in there to be dispised of and then forgotten about.

Other than the bike ride out, today has been another exercise in spending a lot of time doing not a lot.
Two hours on the bike (with the wind direction not being as helpfull as I'd hoped), an hour and a half having lunch and a couple of drinks and another hour of train rides and hanging around stations. The rest of the day was effectively radio, TV and browsing.
Perhaps I'll actually do something useful on Wednesday.

At work.
A guy comes into the office - "I wanted to make popcorn in the microwave but left it too long and now there's a lot of smoke coming from the microwave".
Now smoldering battery/charger of some kind makes a lot of thick acrid smoke which somehow dooesn't stick to the clothes (possibly because it all stick to the lungs).
A single pouch of burnt microwave popcorn ... maaaaan ... my clothes stunk like they were kept in a popcorn factory that has been burning for the last century. My nose turned itself inside out, then rolled up to the forehead, then said "sod it" and went on strike for better working conditions (haha, optimist).
At least that popcorn making misadventure didn't result in a fire alarm so we avoided Masai Mara style migration and gathering of people at 1.30 am.

First working day of the week completed. It's getting difficult to dress for my 2.2 mile powerwalk to the office as I have a heavy laptop rucksack to carry and it always ends up stuck to my back with sweat so I need to change my shirt when I get there. It even happened in the frosty weather but now it's not t-shirt weather yet, but put on a light coat and I am sweltered. It's the rucksack causes the problem.

I think we have a meeting tomorrow where I think we get to meet our mysterious new supervisor. It's only taken 3 or 4 months to get to this point. I hope he/she doesn't make too many changes.

Otherwise, just been to the shops to re-stock my bare cupboards, unpacked properly from the weekend and put my washing in the machine. Been sitting doing some writing. I think I will soon take an early night.
