I've just shredded a red cabbage and put it in a saucepan with a generous glug of apple juice, three bay leaves, some allspice and some Chinese five spice. Will need to let that cook down a bit before I can add the apples and an onion.
Should've taken a bigger pot.
Kept the outer leaves (will dry them) to dye some eggs for Easter. I'll get a nice blue from that. If I add turmeric, I'll get green, and if I add some beetroot peel, I'll get a very fine purple.
