Work office is dug into a hillside so you can enter on Ground, 1st and 2nd floors. A lift links ground to 1st, another ground to 1st 2nd and 3rd, and another from 1st to 2nd 3rd and 4th. The floor levels don't confuse many but the lifts often do.

reminds me of retirement homes where there are no steps but there are elevators between 3 floors. meaning you can walk from 1st to 3rd w/o using or even encountering stairs. everything is ramped, but you never notice any inclines. & yet there are elevators & 3 distinct floors

surprisingly, my 95 yr old mother has no trouble navigating

Another work day completed and shopping completed on the way home.

It's wet and cold tonight so I will probably not go out on the bike.

I believe John Cleese was inspired to write Fawlty Towers after encountering a rude hotel manager. I am considering writing a sitcom about a rude and incompetent building contractor!

Spent an hour copying and pasting the next few pages of the text I need to translate, so tomorrow I can just work on the translation itself. The original is a pdf with all the formatting that comes with that. I need this for context, but the programme is weird and the highlighting jumps around and then pasted in a different order, so I have to do it paragraph by paragraph.

This seems to be the longest single section, so after that it's just a few two-page bits.

While out on the bike this afternoon I picked up one of those annoying very slow punctures where the air loss is so slow you can get 5 miles done between air top-ups. Rather than try to find the tiny hole, I made it home on two quick uses of the pump roadside and will sort the problem out on Thursday morning if I can be bothered.

A haircut had also been had (grade 6 all over) as I went to have a shower, looked in the mirror and realised that the greying mop had tipped over into untidy.

Almost time to make this evening's hot hocolate.

& just like that another day comes to an end. 40F degrees near me but by morning the windchill will be 1F. this is a screen from a webcam close to the tip of the Cape, but I'm not there myself right now

drats but that def. sounds like a repair at your earliest convenience. I have a slow leak, whereby I can pump it up for a ride & have no issues. but a few days - 1week later, it needs to be pumped back up. I'm hopping to repair it before my next ride, but we'll see ...
